About: Easement protects nearly 1600 acres surrounding the historic mountaintop home of Thomas Jefferson. Visitors to the mountaintop as well as hikers along the Saunders-Monticello trail and paddlers along the Rivanna River enjoy the undisturbed, forested mountainside that protects the historic integrity of Monticello.
