Brandy Station Battlefield
Location: Culpeper County - Located 5 miles north of Culpeper on Route 663. There is excellent signage to the battlefield.
About: This is the site of the Battle of Brandy Station, the largest cavalry battle of the Civil War and probably the largest ever fought in North America. The Civil War Preservation Trust has preserved 686 acres and several structures that were on-site during the battle.

Cedar Mountain Battlefield
Location: Culpeper County - From Route 29, take the exit for Route 15/Woodberry Forest. The battlefield is 7 miles south at the intersection of Route 15 and General Winder Drive.
About: The site of the Battle of Cedar Mountain. The 150+ acres is now owned by the Civil War Preservation Trust.

Bull Run Mountain (VOF Owned Land)
Location: Fauquier and Prince William Counties - At Thoroughfare Gap due east of Beverley Mill on the north side of I-66 and Rte. 55 Bull Run Mountains Conservancy 17405 Beverley Mill Drive, Broad Run, VA 20137, Tel: 703-753-2631
About: This State Natural Area Preserve comprises approximately 2,500 acres of the easternmost mountains in the state. The Bull Run Mountains are one of the largest, relatively intact and unfragmented natural landscapes east of the Blue Ridge in northern Virginia. VOF leases 800 acres of the land to the Bull Run Mountains Conservancy, a local non-profit group, which manages it to provide for public access and educational activities.

Banshee Reeks
Location: Loudoun County - 21085 The Woods Road, Leesburg, VA 20175
About: The 725-acre Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve is open to the general public between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. After hours activities may be approved and scheduled by permit only.

Goose Creek Stone Arch Bridge
Location: Loudoun County - NW of Atoka on Rt. 50 at Goose Creek
About: Property is comprised of mainly open bottomland with Goose Creek, a State Scenic River, running through property. Property contains a portion of Goose Creek Stone Arch Bridge, site of battle of June 20, 1893. The bridge is on the Virginia Landmarks Registry and the National Register of Historic Places.

Rust Sanctuary
Location: Loudoun County - 802 Childrens Center Road, Leesburg, VA 20175
About: Come and enjoy Rust Nature Sanctuary anytime from dawn to dusk, seven days a week, any day of the year. No admission fee. Bring your binoculars, camera, and a picnic lunch. Take photographs, and leave with pleasant memo­ries and plans to return.

Morven Park
Location: Loudoun County - 17263 Southern Planter Ln, Leesburg, VA 20176
About: Historic mansion dating to 1731 and its gardens and outbuildings, which was home to two govenors. The mansion is on the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places. The property is also home to the Winmill Carriage Collection and the Museum of Hounds and Hunting. Morven Park is visited annually by 60,000 people for tours and special events, and is a Civil War Trails stop.
